27 September 2016 - meet at 12:55 for the 13:05 showing

Hello ladies, and  welcome back to the movies after the summer break.  Hope it was a very enjoyable one!
This month we will be seeing Hell or High Water, a Western bank-robber movie set in present-day Texas.  “Oh dear!", I hear you say – but it’s a thoughtful  film, with a modern take on “bank robbery” and a wicked  sense of humour.  Chris Pine and Ben Foster – playing the robbers – are brothers  on a mission for justice, while Jeff Bridges is the Texas ranger who tracks them down.  The Director is David Mackenzie.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the film is "solidly crafted, well-acted and eschews mindless gunplay [though gunplay there is!] in favour of confident pacing and full-bodied [rounded?] characters".
It was shown in the Un Certain Regard category at the Cannes film festival.
